Chapter 2: Petrified Caverns

The Winx stood in front of a giant mouth of a cave that lead down to the caverns. The Winx had explain what happened over the radio to the Specialists and Roxy on the phone. Nook had agreed to tell the history of the Curse of the Fairy of Serpents once the Specialists and Roxy arrived. After waiting a sum amount of time, the Specialists and Roxy arrived at the Winx destination and they ran out.

"Is this the entrance to the Petrified Caverns you talked about?" asked Roxy as she looked at the deep black mouth with the rocks that shaped like teeth.

"Yes it is." said Bloom. She was greeted by Sky happily, but she still felt on edge.

"Why did this happen?" asked Riven.

"I have no idea..." said Musa.

"It was all find then this snake had to show up and ruin everything!" said Stella furiously.

"It doesn't matter! We have to go rescue Tecna!" said Timmy firmly. "I almost lost her once, I'm not about to lose her again!"

The group quieted down. The sound of the leaves rustled echoed through the mouth of the cave. Everyone remembered something that seemed very long ago. The Omega Dimension. Tecna had sealed herself within the Omega Dimension in order to save Andros. She had been stuck in the icy prison for days, but Timmy spent countless hours and finally found her. When she returned home, she was exhausted and drained, but perfectly fine.

"Timmy, calm down. We'll find her, don't worry." said Helia. He held his best friend's shoulder. "She's probably trying to find us too."

"Well since you're all here, I'll explain what the Curse of the Fairy of Serpents is." said Nook calmly who was perched on Blooms shoulder.

"Please do." said Bloom

"Long ago, there were two sisters." said Nook. "The first sister was Adelita, the Fairy of Animals. She was a kind fairy that took care of all the animals on earth."

"So Adelita was like me?" asked Roxy.

"I think you might be Adelita's decendant. Anyways, the second sister was Vipera, a witch who loved snakes. She was also kind like her sister. They were so close to each other and almost nothign to rip them apart. Until the Wizards of the Black Circle took Adelita away."

"I knew those no-good wizards were apart of this!" said Stella.

"Yea, they cause everything that goes wrong!" added Musa.

"After the wizards took Adelita away, Vipera grew vengeful and attacked them; however, she was too weak. After nearly escaping with her life, she went into hiding, storing energy so one day she will get her revenge for her sister. She learned to be a fairy witch."

"A fairy witch? Like Mirta?" asked Stella.

"I guess so." said Bloom.

"But there's something I don't understand." said Flora.

"What is it Flora?" said Aisha.

"What's the curse part?"

"Well basically, the curse is that people has been disappearing. Humans and Faries alike. They would just vanish and never turn up again."

"What would happen to those people, Nook?" asked Bloom.

"That, I don't know. But I suspect that she uses the missing people to her own bidding or something worse."

The sudden silence of the group signaled that they wasted enough time.

"I think we wasted enough time." said Helia. "We need to hurry."

"Tecna could be in danger." said Flora.

"We need to find her before something bad happens." said Bloom.

"Let's go."

"Brandon, my feet hurt." said Stella.

She was sitting down on a flat stone. The group had stopped to rest after 5 hours of searching. The caves were confusing like a maze. It got deeper and deeper every step they took

"Come on, Stella. It can't be that bad."

"We've all been walking for 5 hours you know." said Musa. She slumped by Riven who was standing guard.

"Let's search again." encouraged Timmy.

"Timmy, we're worried about Tecna, but we have to worry about our health too." said Helia.

As the conversation went on, Aisha was leaning over an oddly shaped rock. She moved her finger among the rocks. Nabu and Flora was with her.

"What a strange rock." said Nabu.

"I've never seen anything like it. Have you?" asked Flora.

"I never seen like it." said Aisha.

"It looks man-made doesn't it?" said Nabu.

"It does."

Aisha felt something. Like an impulse. Like someone was trying to tell her something.

Aisha!

"Who's there?" asked Aisha.

"I hear it too!" said Flora

Aisha! Flora! It's me....

"Guys do you hear something?" asked Bloom.

Bloom, Musa, Stella, Aisha! Timmy....h e l p  m e  .  .  .  .

"Yea I do hear something..." said Musa. "It sounds like-"

"Tecna!" exclaimed Timmy. "She's alive, she's trying ot talk to us."

"It's the mind-speaking spell!" said Bloom.

Can you guys hear me?

"Yes we can, Tecna!" said Bloom.

Listen, I don't have much time. Push the button!

"What button?"

The rock! The roc-

Tecna's voice stopped ringing in everyone heads.

"Tecna? Tecna!" called out Musa.

"Where is she?What's the rock?" asked Timmy. Aisha remembered the oddly shaped rock on the wall.

"The rock. We need to push it!"  cried Aisha.

The group gathered around the rock. Bloom extended one hand to push it. The looked around at everyone and they nodded. Nook started to shiver. In fear maybe? Bloom pushed the button and the wall before them sank into the ground. What they saw sent shock through everyone's spine.

"Oh my god! Tecna!"
